Scheduling events for A Day in Hand Saturdays in Minnesota is proving to be more successful if I post an add and say, be OUT where ever you are. However, what we need to do is inspire people to send in pictures when they are out on those days.
Our last Day in Hand on November 28th on Facebook showed over 100 people signed up to participate in the event. The event for December 26th has already been posted and thus far we have seen 14 people sign up.
Getting anything advertised in the Twin Cities is a task and chore that has proven to be very challenging and more difficult. I was told by someone who works for the Pride Alive group of the Minnesota AIDS project that they have often sent things to Lavendar (the Twin Cities LGBT magazine) and have found it much too difficult to advertise things in there. I agree.
What I am able to do is post the event through Outfront Minnesota's Calendar to drive people to participate. Other venues are more complicated.
